I LOVE my checklist system. My amazingly organized husband introduced me to it earlier this year and I have been hooked. I prioritize my goals for the month and the week and then have a daily checklist of tasks to accomplish. Every day I look back to the goals and make sure I am doing something to acheive them. I love my system, but sometimes I forget to let myself dream and think crazy thoughts... It sounds weird but I have started to build in "time to dream" into my daily schedule. I go on a short walk without my phone and just think! It is honestly amazing how much clariety I get from these short walks. Where do you go to dream?

I was super excited to move into our new Airbnb. I

I was super excited to move into our new Airbnb. It is about 500 sq. ft. making it the smallest home we have lived in for more than a 2 month period. It has been perfect for us, but when we moved in I had to do a little rearranging to make the storage situation work for us. The kitchen is super small and does not have a pantry, so I decided to expand our storage around the corner into this cute nook. This is our place for glasses, dishes, and also the drop zone for keys, wallets, and anything else we bring in from the car.

Open shelving can feel daunting because it is all out there, but it can be functional while also stylish. Thankfully our host has lots of cute decor around the house so I incorporated our kitchen items with some more aesthetic pieces. What are you doing today to build the tomorrow that you want? I have to ask myself this question pretty often when I get caught up in the little things that may not matter in the long run.. What systems am I building? What habits am I forming?

Happy Friday! This is me, in my happy place(a super comfy chair, in an airbnb, wearing my favorite overalls, designing lovely spaces for my fantastic clients). Some people might find it ironic that while I am designing homes for other people, my husband and I don't have a permanent home. I love it!

While it may seem odd, I actually think it is so important to experience lots of different styles, layouts, and architecture for myself. By educating myself on different types of homes constantly, I am better prepared for all of my very different clients. Everyone's home should represent who they are and that is going to change from one home to another.
